To do a good job in electromagnetic compatibility design, these aspects are indispensable

EMC certification is the first EMC standard introduced by the European Community government. According to the regulations of the European Community government, from January 1, 1996, all electrical and electronic products must pass EMC certification and be labeled with the CE mark before being sold in the European Community market; Governments have taken measures to enforce the management of EMC performance in electrical and electronic products. EU Directive 2004/108/EC (EMC Directive), US Federal Code CFR47/FCRules, and other internationally influential EMC certifications.

In order to make the product have good electromagnetic compatibility, it is necessary to consider the design content related to electromagnetic compatibility. Electromagnetic compatibility design generally includes the following aspects.

国产电磁兼容仪器设备

Circuit board design:

The circuit board is the core of the problem, whether the equipment is emitting electromagnetic interference, external interference, or mutual interference between circuits. Therefore, the design of circuit boards is of great significance for ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility of equipment. The purpose of circuit board design is to reduce the electromagnetic radiation and sensitivity to external interference generated by circuits on the circuit board, and reduce the interaction between circuits on the circuit board.

Filter design:

For any device, filters are one of the key technologies to solve electromagnetic interference. Because the wires in the device are efficient receiving and radiation antennas, most of the radiation emissions generated by the device are realized through various wires. External interference is usually first received through the wires and then connected to the device. The purpose of the filter is to eliminate these interference signals on the wire, prevent interference signals in the circuit from being transmitted to the wire, and prevent interference signals received by the wire from being transmitted to the circuit.

Ground wire design:

The electromagnetic interference problem is caused by the ground wire, as the ground wire potential is the reference potential for the operation of the entire circuit. If the ground wire is improperly designed, the potential of the ground wire is unstable, resulting in circuit failure. The purpose of the ground wire design is to ensure that the ground wire potential is as stable as possible to eliminate interference.

Shielding and bonding design:

Shielding is necessary for most devices. Especially with the increase of circuit operating frequency, relying solely on circuit board design often cannot meet the requirements of electromagnetic compatibility standards. There are many differences between the shielding design of the chassis and the traditional structural design. Generally speaking, if electromagnetic shielding requirements are not considered in the structural design, it is difficult to add shielding effects to the chassis. Therefore, for the design of modern electronic products, we must consider shielding from the beginning.

For the R&D and design process of a new project, EMC design needs to run through the entire process. In order to avoid rework and repetitive research and development, EMC design needs to be considered in the design, which can shorten the time to market of the entire product and improve the efficiency of the enterprise.
